Preliminary Tree Assessments - AS4970

Development site acquisition stage.  Evaluation of trees suitable for retention and ensuring they are marked on plans. Provide a preliminary arboricultural report and show indicative tree protection zones to guide development layout.

Preliminary tree assessments are the first step in the tree assessment process and are designed to identify any obvious defects or issues that may require further investigation. The assessment may involve a visual inspection of the tree, including the trunk, branches, and foliage, as well as an assessment of the tree's location, surroundings, and potential risks.

During the assessment, we look for signs of decay, damage, disease, or structural issues that could affect the tree's stability or pose a risk to people or property. We also consider factors such as the age and size of the tree, its growth rate, and any previous management practices.

Once the preliminary assessment is complete, the arborist may recommend further investigation or management measures, such as pruning, removal, or monitoring. The assessment may also form the basis for ongoing tree management and maintenance plans to ensure the safety and health of the tree and the surrounding environment.
